As protests against race-based hatred take place in Canada, the United States, and around the world, this is a time to stand up against the systems and legacies that perpetuate harm against racialized communities. We condemn the racism, prejudice, and injustice that causes so much pain to Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour.
We are committed to doing our part to build a more just world, and we reaffirm our responsibility to foster a more equitable and inclusive culture at Camp. We want Camp to be a place where everyone feels welcome, feels that they belong, and feels valued for who they are. At Wenonah, we are reflecting on how we can make it so. This is a time for us to listen, to learn, and to change. The work to be better continues for all of us.
While we cannot fully understand the hurt that Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour in our community are feeling, we see you, we hear you, and we stand with you.
With love and in solidarity.
